next NEXT_ was MC’s first independent curatorial project. The summer of 2023, she ran an open call at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design , and selected eight fellow students to participate in an exhibition. The purpose of the show was to try out curating and organizing. MC and the artists were able to learn about an exhibition’s production and gain professionals skills while experimenting with exhibition design and professionalism. While MC planned, designed, and promoted the show, the artists gathered their work, some of which was made for this exhibition, and put together descriptions for their practices.

The show ran in the student lounge from August 23rd to October 31st, and included a reception where each artist spoke about their work.
